What is The International Steinway Festival 2020?

The festival is an important biennial event organized by Steinway & Sons in Hamburg, Germany, to identify, encourage, and promote young pianists in the formative stages of their careers. Various worldwide countries will concurrently be running national-level competitions to determine their representatives for the 19th International Steinway Festival 2020 in Hamburg.

What are the Asian national & regional competitions?

In the national competitions, local Steinway dealers will administer countrywide competitions in the following Asian countries: Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Each country will select one representative to compete in the Steinway Regional Finals Asia Pacific.

Bentley Music is hosting the Malaysia Steinway national finals - the 5th Steinway Malaysia Youth Piano Competition (SMYPC) 2020, and the winner of the SMYPC 2020 will proceed to the Steinway Regional Finals Asia Pacific, where he or she will compete for a chance to represent Southeast Asia at the 19th International Steinway Festival 2020 in Hamburg, alongside with representatives from several European nations, China and Japan.
